Honda Civic 2012 Car

The Honda Civic 2012  jumps into the compact car category for the new model year with minor style changes and a power boost in the Si trim option. The Civic is in the same league as the Chevy Cruze and Ford Focus. The Civic Hybrid is on par with the VW Jetta TDI. Additional updates give the Civic the feel of a luxury car without the expense.

                                                  Engine
1.8-liter four cylinder engine operating at 140hp with 128 lb./ft. of torque. Drivers have the choice of either a manual or automatic transmission. Automatic is standard on the HF and EX. The hybrid version features a 1.5-liter four cylinder engine along with an electric motor operating at 110hp with 127 lb./ft. of torque. A continuously variable transmission is standard on the hybrid.
                                             Interior& Exterior
The two-tier display remains from the previous model year, with the digital speedometer located above the analog tachometer. The quality of the plastic has been upgraded, but otherwise the interior is the same as the 2011 Civic. Additions include a rice-paper-like grain on the door panels, a five-inch display now standard on all models and new seats offering more support. The screen is located to the right of the speedometer, displaying the trip computer, audio information, a clock and Bluetooth features. Available trims include the DC for the base model, LX, EX and the EX-L for the luxury model. The base model includes a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel along with a rear seat that folds down. The LX includes power locks and mirrors, steering-wheel mounted controls for the car’s audio system, and keyless entry. The trunk of the coupe features 11.7 cubic feet of space. The sedan offers 12.5 cubic feet of trunk space. The trunk space is a little smaller in the hybrid. All Civics have plenty of interior room.
The base model includes intermittent windshield wipers, auto headlights and 15-inch wheels. The EX features 16-inch alloy wheels, a sunroof, seven speakers for a surround-sound effect, outside temperature display and rear disc brakes. The EX-L is characterized with leather upholstery, heated seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Civic is available in two body types: coupe or sedan. Exterior features on the XL include lighter aluminum wheels, low-rolling resistance tires, a rear spoiler, LED taillights, outside mirrors with turn signals, and under panels to reduce wind resistance. A navigation system with real-time traffic and voice control is optional on the EX.
